Kevin Blum
Senior Silver, Senior Gold

Coach Kevin Blum arrives at TMEC in his 25th year coaching. Kevin started the Rattler Swim Club in Los Angeles in 2001 with one swimmer, and the team eventually became a Silver medal club. He stayed with the team for 11 years before moving on. Kevin later held roles such as a Head Coaching stint in Melbourne Australia, and also led a site with the Marlins of Raleigh - with the team earning Gold Medal Club recognition, ranking 2nd in the nation. In 2019 Kevin moved on from club to coach collegiately at Boston College, The University of Arizona, and the University of Hawaii - where he was the Associate Head Coach for two years.
Kevin coached 16&unders to each of the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Trials, and from 2006-2019 coached teenagers to qualify for their 1st Junior National or Futures cut in every year but one. Kevin coached swimmers onto USA National teams and National Junior teams, and was named a USA National team coach for the 2013 World University Games and traveled with the team to Russia. He also spent his first 11 years as a coach teaching learn-to-swim lessons, summer teams, camps, and coaching Masters and school teams.
Kevin grew up a swimmer (and baseball and soccer player) in the SF bay area, and swam at Cal State Northridge in the late 90’s.
